IMPRESSIONS

 My Canada impressions......from the 5th of August......even though I set my foot here a day before,I started my blog a day later.

As I set out of my comfort zone and set my foot into a foreign land after almost eight years,into a country with beautiful flowers,I thought I would transfer my collection of thoughts into my blog.

Began my first morning by listening to some meditative mantras over a hot cup of coffee...later had breakfast of toast and bhurji.


Tall buildings are not a rarity in my Bharat,yet, I love looking up to see the sky scrapers touch the sky.Looked beautiful from the balcony of Gaurav's apartment.Took some pics for my photo gallery,which is also my collection of thoughts.





The thing which always fascinates me are the footpaths.As their name goes they are real footpaths where you can walk without fear of falling.I think I can name my country's footpaths as fallpaths.Sad but true.

A walk by the lake was refreshing.Then came our visit to the grocery shop situated near by.Took some pics there.....merely to add to my list of activities.






Such grocery shops are also not anymore a novelty for us in Bharat.

On our way back Gaurav and I stopped to admire some flowers,smiling beauties,as I call them.Clicked some pics of them because I  intend to start my tryst with them again.For the past one month I had kept aside my paints and brushes and miss them a lot.They have become my constant and faithful companions.Just like books,paints and brushes too don't mind if they are ignored due to our preoccupation.Our work comes back to life when we want them to.But I miss them a lot and always think of them and assure myself that I will go back to them when the time is conducive.





Ending my introductory blog with an assurance that I have made up my mind to enjoy my time here in Canada because it's my time with Gaurav.

Patience unlimited

 I feel that I have developed unlimited patience over the years.Life teaches patience,tolerance and the attitude to ignore many things that are not palatable to us.The reason being,as we see more of life we realise that we can't change people around us, so if we have to deal with people who are a part of our living, we have to put up with lots of unpleasant things or their behavior that may hurt us. A person's behavior tells us more about that person,who ever it be....our own selves or others. I had known a wife who used to be constantly ridiculed by her husband for everything she said or did and that too in front of an audience of friends and the wife would always laugh it off.I used to admire that lady but her husband's behavior would irritate me.I think now I understand why she used to keep quiet and bear everything and smile it off.Their individual behaviours told us more about his personality and her personality.His behavior told us what an ill mannered and foolish  pe...

Is appreciation the end all and be all?

The title I gave this blog is a question!!! I love to analyse every thing that happens in my day to day life.Anything overwhelming or anything that makes me sad. Well something overwhelming happened today. I was most unexpectedly appreciated for a painting that I posted in a watercolor group of which I am a member. At first it was overwhelming and I even responded to it.After responding,my mind started the process of analysis of the whole process.....from how I felt motivated to paint the subject to how I felt after finishing my painting. Actually, I could not take my eyes off the photograph that was posted by my photographer friend whom I follow closely.My admiration for that person's photography ignited the desire in me to paint and I could not help but make a water colour version of it.I sat through my work in the night till the wee hours of the next morning and was elated with the result.The first thing I did was to post it the next day.Irespective of the likes and comments I g...
